WHY did you DECIDE TO BECOME A LIFE COACH?
Once upon a time, I was a Director of Human Resources in hospitality. I was with this company for 9 years. One day, I came home and said to my husband, “I think I want to quit my job and pursue something that I am crazy passionate about…Life Coaching.” Like any great husband, he said, “Go for it!” I mean, I feel like it went something like that…
That’s the how, here’s the why – I strongly feel that women, in particular, spend so much time taking care of others, whether it’s kids, husbands, pets, friends or their house (to name a few) often while maintaining careers. This then leaves minimal, if any time to care for themselves, which can be draining, both physically and mentally. There are feelings of wanting more from life or a career but not knowing where to begin. I want to be the person that can help them to reclaim their lives and make lasting transformations.
Additionally, there are women who are going through varying life transitions, a new Mrs., new mama, going through a divorce, loss of job, transitioning from stay-at-home into a new career, retiring after working for many, many years – that need some clarity on their “what’s next.” I want to be that person that encourages, empowers and assists them in creating fulfillment in their new lives and routines.
Finally, I want to have some FUN! My classes and retreats are meant to be practical, but also meant to be full of belly laughs, connecting with a sisterhood community and learning from one another in a super safe, non-judgmental environment.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR COACHING STYLE?
Practical. I coach with the intentions of doing rather than idealizing. I am a firm believer in accountability and will hold each of my ladies accountable in an encouraging and supporting way. I also believe in taking our dreams, visions and goals seriously, but not so much ourselves.
HOW DO YOU RELATE TO THE WOMEN YOU COACH?
Like my coaching style, the women that I work with are real life, practical ladies that are committed to transforming their lives and will do the work in order to make it happen.
WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF SUCCESS?
Any and all progress made, no matter how big or small, as long as we are improving ourselves every day. Hey…wait. What about setbacks and failed attempts? Yep! That’s (a different kind of) success too..
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A COACH?
I live for meeting people and building relationships. Secretly, though, I really love seeing people reach a breakthrough….super cool.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT COACHING?
I love having the ability to actively listen, to ask powerful questions and to utilize techniques to see real change happen in women’s lives. The process of establishing where you are right now, what’s holding you back and how we can get you to where you need to be is super inspiring.
